Montreal Heart Of The City Piano Program

Music is an integral factor of academic education, as it is beneficial to improving memory, dexterity, and nurturing the soul of both the student and the teacher. Learning music at a young age ignites cognitive, social, and emotional development in children. However, many primary schools do not have the resources to supply all of their students with a personalized, hands-on music education. The Montreal Heart of the City Piano Program (MHCPP) is a McGill student club dedicated to making individual lessons more accessible to children that provide free piano lessons to elementary schools in underprivileged areas. Its mission is to cultivate an appreciation for music by working closely with students to introduce them to various musical styles and develop their musicianship.
